1.Inflation of Flight Equipment

(1)Hot Air Balloon: The gondola of a hot air balloon is usually equipped with an emergency inflation device, and a CO₂ cylinder can serve as a backup gas source. When the hot air balloon encounters emergency situations such as airbag leakage during flight, the CO₂ cylinder can be used to quickly inflate the emergency airbag, providing additional buoyancy to ensure the hot air balloon can land safely.

(2)Powered Parachute and Glider: CO₂ cylinders may be used in the safety backup systems of these flight equipment. For instance, when the main parachute malfunctions and cannot open properly, some emergency parachute packs are equipped with CO₂ inflation devices. By triggering the device, the CO₂ cylinder can rapidly inflate the emergency parachute to help the pilot land safely.

2.Aviation Food Preservation

On the aircraft: CO₂ cylinders can be applied to the food preservation system on the aircraft. Filling CO₂ into the food packaging can expel the air inside the packaging, reduce the oxygen content, inhibit the growth of bacteria and mold, extend the shelf life of aviation food, and ensure that passengers can enjoy fresh food during the flight.

3.Aviation Maintenance Assistance

During aircraft maintenance: CO₂ cylinders can serve as the power source for some small tools. For example, tools like CO₂-driven air drills and air nail guns can, when repairing or installing some structures inside the aircraft, utilize the stable pressure provided by the CO₂ cylinder to quickly complete tasks such as drilling and fixing, thus improving the maintenance efficiency.

4.Simulated Flight Training

In simulated flight equipment: In order to simulate some special situations during flight, such as the emergency inflation scenario when the aircraft loses pressure, CO₂ cylinders will be used to inflate the relevant airbags or devices in the simulated equipment, enabling pilots to get familiar with the emergency operation procedures during training and enhancing their ability to deal with unexpected situations.
