1.In the application scenario of a beer dispenser, the CO₂ cylinder plays a crucial role:


(1)Preservation and Anti-corrosion: The CO₂ cylinder provides an inert gas protection barrier for the beer. In the beer dispenser, when the beer flows out from the keg, the CO₂ gas can fill the remaining space inside the keg and effectively expel the oxygen. Since oxygen will accelerate the oxidation reaction of various components in the beer, leading to a deterioration of the beer's flavor, a darker color, and also promoting the growth of microorganisms. By isolating the oxygen, the freshness and flavor of the beer can be maintained for a long time, the shelf life is extended, and waste is reduced.


(2)Maintaining Dense Foam: Dense and delicate foam is one of the important characteristics of high-quality beer, and the CO₂ cylinder is the key to achieving this effect. When the beer dispenser is in operation, CO₂ dissolves in the beer under a certain pressure. When the beer tap is opened and the beer flows out, the pressure drops instantly, and a large amount of CO₂ that was originally dissolved in the beer escapes, forming rich foam. These foams not only enhance the visual enjoyment when drinking beer but also form a protective film on the surface of the beer, slowing down the dissipation of the beer's aroma and allowing drinkers to fully savor the complex aroma layers of the beer.


(3)Providing Conveying Power: The CO₂ cylinder provides a stable pressure for the transportation of beer from the keg to the beer tap. Inside the beer dispenser, the pressure exerted by the CO₂ gas pushes the beer to flow in the pipeline, enabling the beer to flow out smoothly and steadily. This pressure conveying method avoids the shear force that may be brought by traditional mechanical pumping, prevents the foam structure and flavor substances in the beer from being damaged, and ensures that consumers can obtain a consistent quality drinking experience every time.

2.The following points need to be noted when using a CO₂ cylinder in a beer dispenser:


(1) Selection and Installation of the Cylinder. Firstly, choose the appropriate specification: According to factors such as the usage frequency of the beer dispenser, the capacity of the keg, and the beer dispensing speed, select a CO₂ cylinder with an appropriate capacity and pressure. Common cylinder capacities include 5 pounds, 10 pounds, 20 pounds, etc. Generally, a 5-pound or 10-pound cylinder can be selected for a household beer dispenser, while commercial places should select a cylinder with a larger capacity according to actual needs. Secondly, install and fix it correctly: Install the CO₂ cylinder on the supporting bracket or fixing device of the beer dispenser to ensure that the cylinder is stable and prevent it from tipping over. When installing, according to the requirements of the instruction manual, use appropriate connecting pieces to correctly connect the cylinder with the gas conveying pipeline of the beer dispenser, and ensure that the connection is well-sealed and there is no leakage.


(2)Pressure Regulation and Control. Firstly, equip with an accurate pressure regulator: Install an accurate pressure regulator between the CO₂ cylinder and the beer dispenser to accurately regulate the pressure of the CO₂ gas entering the beer dispenser according to the type of beer, the size of the keg, and the actual situation of beer dispensing. Generally speaking, it is more appropriate to set the CO₂ pressure of the beer dispenser at 10 - 15 psi (pounds per square inch), but different types of beer may require different pressures. For example, pale beers may require a lower pressure, while strong beers may require a slightly higher pressure. Secondly, check the pressure regularly: Regularly check whether the pressure setting of the pressure regulator is correct and whether the pressure inside the beer dispenser is stable. You can check it through the pressure gauge on the beer dispenser or a special pressure detection device. If an abnormal pressure is found, such as too high or too low pressure, adjust it in a timely manner to avoid affecting the quality of the beer and the beer dispensing effect due to pressure problems.


(3)Gas Quality and Purity. Pay attention to using food-grade CO₂: Ensure that the used CO₂ gas is of food grade and its purity meets the relevant standards. Generally, the purity of CO₂ is required to reach more than 99.9%. Food-grade CO₂ has undergone strict purification and treatment, contains no harmful impurities and odors, and will not have an adverse impact on the taste and quality of the beer. More importantly, prevent gas contamination: When replacing the cylinder or connecting the pipeline, pay attention to keeping the interface clean to prevent impurities such as dust and oil from entering the cylinder or pipeline, so as not to contaminate the CO₂ gas. At the same time, avoid placing the CO₂ cylinder in an environment with odors or pollution to prevent the gas from adsorbing odors.
